Detailed Description: Understands and promotes the company’s health, safety & environmental policy and objectives; performs work in accordance with the company’s established rules, regulations and approved procedures; intervenes to stop unsafe acts and practices; and is accountable for the well being and safety of own self and others, including all contracted labor force – unskilled, semiskilled, and skilled.
Plans, directs and actively participates in the ongoing training and development of own self and subordinates with special emphasis on UAE Nationals. This includes assessing employees’ training and development needs, directing the preparation of structured development programs, monitoring progress and counselling trainees on alternative career paths and job profiles available in the company.
Manages and controls the activities of assigned personnel in the team. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority in accordance with the delegation of authority manual.
Directs and coordinates the activities of assigned contractor personnel involved in driving/operating involved in Drilling location preparation (for example, D8, D9, Cranes).
Plans and ensures effective and efficient utilization of assigned heavy duty vehicles and equipment. Includes planning daily movement of drivers and vehicles.
Supervises and directs heavy duty drivers and equipment operators involved in location preparation.
Performs a variety of administrative duties connected with location preparation including the preparation of documents such as equipment log sheets, trip tickets, assisting in checking monthly invoices and job number allocation for accounting purposes. Feeds daily and weekly reports of contractor utilization in the computer and reports activities to Team Leader.
Supervises subordinate drivers and instructs them to drive safely and to observe Company and traffic regulations. Specifies travel routes for new locations to ensure maximum utilization of contractors. Supervises and follows up preparation of new rig location and the cleaning of old locations.
Carries out other similar or related duties such as organizing safety meetings to ensure drivers/operators understanding and adherences to safety precautions associated with heavy earth moving equipment and supplies transportation, inducting drivers in safe work practices. Participates and assists Rescue Operation team whenever it is required.
Inspection of vehicles/equipment and operators/drivers under contract and ensure they are suitable and fit for the operations.
Conduct Tool Box meetings with contractor’s employees and ensure company safety guidelines are followed.
Coordinate mobilization of equipment to fields and directing them through official move routes, ensuring no damage to Company properties.
Prepare reports on work under progress and ensuring timely completion of locations and move roads to be in line with Rig move schedule.
Inspect move roads and locations as directed by supervisor and prepare preliminary reports on work estimation.
Guide soil investigation crew and identify the testing spots and accompany the quantity survey team and flag the boundaries of locations and move roads.
Latitude of Operation Works according to specialized administrative standards and transport procedures. Exercises initiative in performing his duties and has a reasonable freedom for action. Completed work is reviewed by the Location Supervisor.
Work Interfaces Regular contacts with employees at own or slightly higher level in Drilling, Supply Divisions and NDC to coordinate location related matters. Frequent contacts with transport contractors to arrange vehicle/equipment drivers/operators availability and to verify invoices.
Occasional contacts with local authorities while investigating accidents involving Company owned/rented vehicles/equipment.
Key Accountabilities: The position holder is accountable for the safe operation of the Company’s contracted fleet of earth moving equipment working on Company locations
| | Minimum Requirements | • Completion of Secondary (12 years) education • Good knowledge of spoken and written English • Good knowledge of PC packages
• 5 years experience in heavy duty transportation operations • Valid heavy duty driving license
