| Job ID | 597 | | Position | HSE Engineer | | Post Date | 01/03/2010 | | Closing Date | 20/03/2010 | | Scope of Work | Develop, recommend, advise, assist, prepare, participate, review, analyse, and conduct Technical Safety Specialist Engineering Systems' Studies, drawings, plans, procedures, HSE Impact Assessment (HSEIA), Projects' HSE Reviews (PHSER), Risk Assessment, HAZOP, HAZAN, HAZID and Safety Cases for all projects / modifications carried out on any of the Company's installation.
Provide professional advise on design requirements for fire / safety and lifesaving systems, guided by the Company's HSE philosophies as well as Local and International Safety Design Codes / Standards.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop and maintain HSE Project Philosophy, Requirements, Specifications, Plans, Reviews, Risk Analysis Criteria and Project HSE Review (PHSER) Procedures at different stages for projects / modifications to be carried out on all Company Sites.
Prepare and review Area Classification Drawings and Electrical Equipment Specifications for Hazardous Areas, for existing facilities, as well as for projects and modification to be carried out on all Company sites.
Review and comment on safety engineering project studies, safety designs and drawings, fire and safety protection I detection systems, emergency shutdown systems, cause & effect diagrams, for new projects f modifications to be carried out on all offshore sites.
Prepare, review, survey, audit, produce assessment reports, recommend corrective actions, design modifications and methodology enhancement as required on the existing fire & safety protection / detection systems, Emergency Shut Down systems, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Safety Charts and Safety Philosophies on all Company sites.
Prepare Scope of Work, Request for Quotation, Call for Tender and Contract documents for specific safety studies to be conducted by third parties. Evaluate technical offers and prepare recommendations.
Audit, inspect, survey and prepare regular reports on the fire & safety systems on all offshore sites, for its operability, maintainability and adequacy in meeting safety engineering standards.
Prepare and develop the Company's Safety Engineering standards related to Hazardous Area Classification, Electrical Equipment Specifications for Hazardous Areas, fire water requirements for different process areas, passive fire protection systems, Safety Design Basis, Escape Routes, Visual Aids, fixed fire fighting systems, lighting requirements and any other safety engineering standard documents that are required for carrying out projects/modifications on all offshore sites.
Participate, develop and conduct HAZOP, HAZAN, HAZID, QRA, HSEIA studies conducted for specific projects or modifications to be carried out on all offshore sites. Review and comment on similar studies performed for the Company by third party consultants.
Contribute to and provide professional input to the HSE Expertise Technical Committees and Working Parties formulated by ADNOC OPCO's for specific Technical HSE Issues.
Perform as required, any ott1ersafety duties as directed by the Sr, Safety Engineer.
| | Minimum Requirements | B.Sc. or HND plus 5 years working knowledge, in a related engineering discipline.
At least 10 years in Safety Engineering job in oil industry, of which at least 3 years on offshore locations as a Safety Engineer.
Membership in a recognised International Safety Engineering Organisation is an advantage.
Excellent knowledge of English language
