Scope of Work

Basic Function and Scope:
The position provides leadership and direction for during all project phases of the Sulfur Recovery Plant package and is a key operations support function to the Sulfur Recovery Plant package Senior Project Manager as well as OA Coordination Manager. The incumbent Leads the OA effort during the project EPC and Startup Phases to ensure operational readiness and will liaise with other Operations Shift Superintendents to ensure that all elements in the OA Plan for the Shah Project are aligned and delivered in a consistent and timely manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team in the Sulfur Recovery Plant pre-operations organization and upon completion of the project, may assume a position of responsibility in the Shah Gas Development operations organization.


Tasks, Duties and Accountabilities:
Reports to Senior Project Manager during Detailed Engineering Phase and functionally to the OA Coordination Manager

Coordinates and manages EPC Package Operations resources.

Collaborates with EPC Contractor OA Lead.

Meets regularly with Project Manager and EPC Contractor management.

Responsible for meeting or exceeding HSE requirements for EPC package

Responsible for adequate operations participation in reviews of EPC Package documents and drawings (P&ID, PFD, 3D Models, data sheets, etc.).

Coordinates operations team participation in HAZOP/Level of Protection Analysis (LOPA)/SIL assessments, QRA, HSEIA, FAT, SAT, etc.

Participates in vendor evaluation and selection

Implements lessons learned from other projects

Works with Project team to arrive at solutions for engineering issues and deliverables

Executes the OA Plan for interaction with the project and preparation for operations

Develops working relationships with other Operations Shift Superintendents

Consults and collaborates with Engineering and Technical Manager.

Provides supervision and direction to operations team members regarding the OA Plan

Coordinates all interfaces with existing operations in the area

Ensures the contractor project documents conform to JV requirements and standards.

Ensures timely review and response to documents and questions from contractor

Liaises with interdisciplinary teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) assisting the OA effort for the EPC Contract package.

Facilitates meetings and communication between team and OA Coordination Manager.

Annual budget preparation

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, equivalent degree, or attested combination of education and operations experience.

At least 15 years general engineering experience at a senior or supervisory level in the hydrocarbon, power generation or chemical processing industry.

Experience in planning for operations in projects, schedule development or other related aspects of projects and/or operations

Experience in managing onshore remote desert operations

Line experience with HSE management systems and procedures. Experience in H2S operations will be an asset.

Ability to work with and influence at different levels of the organization.

Working knowledge of maintenance management, asset integrity management, process safety and electrical distribution systems.

Experience in working on large projects with a multi-national workforce.
