Scope of Work

This position will provide general electrical engineering support to Operations Shift Superintendent – Sulphur Recovery Unit and the Shah Operations team during the project EPC and Startup Phases to ensure operational readiness. The successful candidate will contribute to the resolution of electrical maintenance and reliability issues during the engineering and construction phases of the project. Upon completion of the project, the candidate may assume a position of responsibility for electrical engineering or maintenance in the Shah Gas Development operations organization

Reports to the Operations Shift Superintendent.

Collaborates and provides appropriate consultation with the Sr. Electrical Engineer in the Central Engineering organization.

Meets regularly and maintains good working relationships with the Electrical Engineers in the EPC Contractor organization

Supports and works the Operability Assurance plan and program to achieve readiness for operations.

Ensures HSE requirements for equipment and systems are met or exceeded.

Deals primarily with the following systems:
Steam Turbine Generator Operations and maintenance
Onsite power generation parallel/island mode switchgear
Diesel Emergency Generators operations and maintenance
Distributed Substation Control and Monitoring System (SCMS)
Load Management and Load Shedding (LMLS)
Integrated Protection and Control System (IPCS)
33,11 KV Substation equipment, switchgear, and transformers
33, 11 KV Power transmission and distribution systems
HV, MV, and LV cables
UPS systems including batteries
HV and LV motors [ high power density and general purpose] including VSD systems
Lighting systems
Earthing systems
HVAC systems management
Various packaged equipment
ICCP Systems

Engineering / Construction Activities for the EPC contract
Site Surveys and reports
Substations and IES equipment layouts and ergonomics
Electrical and instrument cables layouts and interfaces
Earthing layouts
Electrical load list
Power system Safety and Protection Coordination study
Material requisitions and selection of electrical equipment / materials
Power allocation and architecture of distribution network
Architecture and integration of SCMS, LMLS, IPCS, and DCS
Power generation and subsystem interfaces
Project specifications for steam turbine generators, transformers, distribution systems, drives, etc.
Engineering Narratives
Scope of work
Main and control Single line diagrams
Equipment data sheets
Interface for vendor packages and EPC packages
Input for technical queries / clarifications
Technical bid evaluation
Vendor selection
Hazardous area classification reviews.

Operability Assurance Activities during Engineering and Construction
Contributes to the development and implementation of the various electrical systems and processes required for start-up and operations
Works on follow-up actions from Electrical maintenance quality system
Consults with Operations Shift Superintendents and Sr. Electrical Engineers to align all EPC package Electrical system development to the same standard
Contributes to the Annual Budget preparations.
Review and recommendations for the Electrical testing workshop requirements.
Involve in pre-commissioning and commissioning document review and approval
Participates in Mechanical Completion walk-downs, punch list close out
Participates in pre-commissioning
Participates in commissioning
Review and follow-up of hand-over documentation (e.g. Operations / Maintenance manuals, CMMS data, etc.)
Provides electrical testing and inspection requirements for A&OI Program
Reviews electrical reliability data input into RAM analysis.
Standardization
FATs and SATs and baseline data.
Review and recommendation of commissioning and two-year electrical spares
Review and recommendation for insurance spares
SPIR reviews




Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or combination of equivalent degree and electrical maintenance experience
At least 10 years electrical engineering experience at a senior or supervisory level in the hydrocarbon, power generation, transmission and distribution or chemical processing industry
Experience in maintainability, constructability and operability planning for electrical systems in major capital, upgrade or maintenance projects, schedule development or other related aspects of projects and/or maintenance.
Supervisory experience in electrical maintenance for onshore remote/desert sour processing plants.
Experience with high power HV electrical motor and VSD operations and maintenance
Ability to work with and influence at different levels of the organization
